Genre: Hurt/Comfort, Drama.
Summary: It had been happening your whole life; people just didn't seem to take very well to you. But after a while of the names and the pushing and shoving, they really acted on it. They acted on their hate and it really, really hurt.
It was getting to be just a bit too much.
You've always had a bit of trouble making friends, despite your generosity and blatant modesty. Elementary school was alright, your dad always told you that if you were nice to people, they'd be nice in return, and there were a few kids you had befriended. None of those friendships had lasted very long. Maybe a month at the most. It was like they got bored of you after a while; like an old toy that gets forgotten under your bed after receiving a new one. You could deal with that though, you liked change too.
Middle school, however, that was when
Dear JakeDear Jake,
24 Days Since Power Outage.
It's been a while hasn't it? Maybe not for you, but for me. It's really quite amazing when you think about it, how much we rely on technology. How much of our lives are dictated by the ease and security that electricity provides us. It's actually moronically ironic. The thing that keeps us close is the thing that rips us apart. I pray my last letter reached you. I can't really be sure; it's so hard to calibrate the transporter without my computers aid. There's only enough power to run that one machine, anything else would be pushing my small generator a bit too far. Repairs should commence soon. I hope you're alright, Jake.
30 Days Since Power Outage.
I've dove down to the seafloor with help from Sawtooth. As I expected the power lines are fine. We've been cut off Jake. Taken off the grid by the Empress. It could have been an accident, but a mix of paranoia and common sense makes me believe otherwise. I haven'
You're Not A PoetYou’re not a poet because of strung words
Together on row upon row again
Of blank verse or perhaps liberal rhyme.
‘Slam’ all you want, other poets wonder;
Your ignorance of couplets a blunder?
Yes! I speak harshly, but it’s no gross crime,
To point with honesty failed verse of thine.
No real poet discards upper case words;
Lets prose crawl on paper like listless worms.
You seek to free verse of those stern letters,
Sever away bleak capital fetters,
But it doesn’t sing of great speech sublime,
Rather, it sneaks of writing in spare time.
Wait! before you throw me in the icy Rhine;
It’s hard to put verse together in rhyme,
To make our dull words sound great all the time,
Hear them ring out loud, like a clear clock’s chime,
Heralding a poet’s summer prime.
Yet the sacred muses weep at your crime;
Your pentameter mangled thick like slime,
The subject not gilded in raiment fine;
Your bold ink font, crystal waters divine
Tastes bitter to the ton
